PAS Niamey enlists Peer Educators in fight against HIV/AIDS

On November 28, 2007 PAS Niamey sponsored a one-day peer educator training for representatives of 15 area high schools.  Each school was invited to send a teacher and three student representatives for a day-long workshop conducted by experts in the field of HIV/AIDS.  Sessions included information on HIV/AIDS prevention and hands-on training on how to conduct in-school presentations for their classmates.  The peer educator teams were also provided with an information kit on HIV/AIDS prevention and an educational DVD produced by a local student group with a grant from PAS Niamey, to assist them in sharing what they learned with their classmates.
