USAID Development Credit Authority Program Signed with ECOBANK

Ambassador Williams, the USAID/West Africa Regional Mission Director and the Director General of ECOBANK/Niger on May 22 signed a five-year agreement to provide loan portfolio guarantees of up to $4 million for small-scale entrepreneurs in the agricultural and commerce sectors.  The initiative is a direct result of President Issoufou’s meetings with President Obama and Administrator Shah in July, 2011.
