U.S Embassy Sponsors Media Training for International Press Freedom Day
On May 2 in celebration of International Press Freedom Day, the U.S. Embassy’s American Cultural Center co-sponsored a media training conference with the Nigerien Women Journalists Association. Ambassador Bernadette Allen chaired the opening ceremony of the conference. In her remarks, Ambassador Allen stressed the fundamental role of a free press in a democratic society and underlined the importance of responsible and ethical journalism by representatives of media.
