Access Microscholarship recipients begin path to English proficiency

On December 26, 2007 the U.S. Embassy recognized the 2007-08 recipients of the Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs’ (ECA) English Access Microscholarships at a ceremony held at the American Cultural Center.  This year marks the fourth year of the program in Niger, which awards two-year scholarships to secondary school students for the study of English as a Foreign Language (EFL).  Microscholarships fund the students’ EFL instruction at the American Cultural Center’s English Language Program (ELP), transportation, and school supply costs.
